Procedure:
1. Apply
thick layer of crayon to illustration board. Use any pattern
and color combinations you like. Try to cover all of the
white area of the board.
2. Pour some ink into palette or paper cup. Dip brush into ink and apply wash
over the crayon layers. If you want, you can leave a border of crayon around
the edges.
3. Let the ink dry.
4. After ink has dried, lightly scratch through ink exposing the crayon underneath.
You can draw pictures or just create patterns. Notes: To make this activity
true to its name, play some music. Applying thick crayon to a large surface
requires frenzied music. I imagine using a soothing, flowing melody for doing
the ink washes. Finally, play music with a strong beat to drown out the sound
of the scratch knife.
