How do I make my own finger paints?

You can purchase finger-painting supplies from any art store, but there is also a simple home recipe.

Ingredients:
1 envelope gelatin (unflavored)
1 cup cold water
1/2 cup liquid laundry starch
2 cups hot water
1/2 cup soap flakes
food coloring
medium saucepan
mixing spoon

Mix gelatin and 1/4 cup of cold water in separate container. In medium saucepan, combine 3/4 cup cold water and starch. Add the hot water and over medium heat bring to boil. Stir constantly until completely thickened. Remove from heat and stir in gelatin mixture. Add soap and stir until completely dissolved. Add food coloring until desired color is achieved, but not more than 1 Tbsp. Store paints in covered containers.
