Henry
Meininger and Phil
Levine – two
of the original founders of the
Art
Students League of Denver – invite you for
a fabulous art and cultural experience
in Burgundy, France, September 7-16,
2007.
This
exciting European journey includes a
full range of painting opportunities
and instruction with professional artist
and Colorado resident Teresa
Vito and French
language lessons with Françoise
Bres-Gude.
Françoise
is a native of France who teaches at Alliance
Française
de Denverif
you want to get a few lessons in before
your travels.
An array of wine tasting and gastronomy
in one of the most heralded wine regions
in the world will be hosted by Phil
Levine.
We
will be lodging in the wonderful village
of Beaune, the heart of the spectacular
Cote
d'Or. One of our excursions is to Maison
Bichot – a prestigious wine house
where the tours are given in English
and the tastings are of some of their
best wines. Each night, we will take
our superb dinner at a different restaurant
in Beaune.
For
the painters, we will take day trips
to fabulous painting locations along
the Oust River, and up in the hills behind
the vineyards. We will also paint in
the vineyard of the 1000 year old Chateau
of Gevrey-Chambertin and end the day
with a wine tasting in their cellars.
Our
painting instructor, Teresa Vito, has
a degree in Fine Arts from the State
University of New York at Geneseo. She
studied at the Art
Students League of Denver with
Ramon Kelley, Quang Ho, Doug Dawson and
Bruce Cody. Teresa painted with Richard
Schmid for five years at the Loveland
Academy of Fine Arts where she also studied
with Nancy Guzik. She has participated
in numerous workshops with artists Clyde
Aspevig, Mike Lynch, Greg McHuron, and
Laura Robb. Teresa has been a full-time
painter since 1992 and is known for her
enthusiastic and knowledgeable teaching.
