Bibelot Show

Horse Power

DEADLINE: Saturday, November 17, 2018
ENTRY FEE: $25, up to two (2) works only
MEDIA: Minimum 1 - Maximum 6
Curtis Center for the Arts, 2349 East Orchard Road, Greenwood Village, CO

The horse culture plays an important role in the Greenwood Village community. While it is home to the Denver Technology Center and its many contemporary, high-rise buildings, Greenwood Village is dotted with horse ranches, barns and stables. To honor this culture, the Curtis Center for the Arts is hosting “Horse Power,” an exhibit celebrating the art of the horse. The purpose of the show is to express the beauty of these magnificent creatures in many different styles and mediums.

Each piece should capture the elements, essence and beauty of the horse. Only original equine fine art produced by the entering individual will be accepted.

Bibelot Show

DEADLINE: Saturday, December 1, 2018, midnight
ENTRY FEE: $20 up to 3 pieces, $5 each additional
MEDIA: less than 10MB for total images
Kanon Collective, 766 Santa Fe Drive, Denver

This year’s Bibelot 2018 Show will be the last one at our Santa Fe space and it will be juried by Kanon owners, Kym Bloom and Elizabeth Licence Mahler

The show, as always, will feature the beauty of small works. Pieces must be no larger than 14” wide, and we encourage multiple small pieces by the same artist. Because this show is focusing on providing affordable artwork for the holiday season, all work submitted must be for sale.

The show will open on First Friday, December 7, and run through Sunday, December 23. There will be a First Friday reception (December 7, 5-10pm) as well as a Third Friday Collector’s Reception (December 21 from 5-9:00pm). We would like as many artists as possible to attend the Third Friday reception so that people have a chance to speak to you about your work. The Third Friday reception is when we will give out the award for Best in Show.

We want our Art Walks to create a 'spectacle', something so big or so interesting or so powerful that visitors to the district walk away saying 'I want to come back'. Creators, makers, and artists - we need your help! These spectacle experiences could take the form of interactive art, large-scale temporary sculptures, performance art, video installation, or other. Your imagination is the only limitation. We love projects that invite audience participation, are immersive and/or interactive, and promote curiosity and spectacle. Approved Art Walk projects will receive up to a $500 stipend to complete their work.
