Angelus Leather Paint Lesson Plan

JUST THE BASICS:

image with Angelus Leather Paints applications on Shoe, Jacket and PurseAngelus Leather Paints are ideal for painting boots, jackets, athletic shoes, purses...anything leather. Other surfaces, as long as they are prepared properly, include canvas, fabrics, mesh and more. When correctly applied the paint will not crack, peel, fade or rub off.

Angelus Paints are non-toxic and water-based for easy clean up. The colors can be blended together for countless custom colors and metallic colors can be blended with standard colors. You can apply the paints with a brush, sponge or airbrush (some thinning may be required for airbrush applications).

PRIOR TO APPLYING PAINT:

  1. Make sure your surface is clean, dry, and free from dust.

  2. Use the Leather Preparer & Deglazer on your piece of leather to prepare the surface. Use a cotton ball or pad to apply.
NOTE: the cotton balls or pads will soak up a lot of the Preparer & Deglazer liquid and you'll be able to cover a large area

  3. Apply in light, thin coats to achieve full and even coverage. Allow each coat to dry before applying another layer.

  4. You can blend with a brush to produce fades or mix colors.

  5. Allow paint to dry for at least 24 hours before bending or flexing the surface.

  6. Try these additives for additional surfaces:
2-Thin is for thinning the paint for airbrush applications
2-Hard is for harder plastic areas to help adhesion and scuff protection
2-Soft is for making the paint soft and pliable for cloth, canvas and other soft materials
